Online mindfulness-based psychotherapy is becoming very well established as a way of making psychotherapy more widely available

Online Mindfulness Therapy Sessions via Skype for Overcoming Anxiety and Depression

Online psychotherapy is growing in popularity for a number of reasons. Convenience and ease of organizing online therapy sessions is one reason. Another reason is that more and more people are becoming interested in self-help rather than going to a psychotherapist for treatment or medications. Learning how to manage your emotions by yourself is far better than just managing symptoms.

I offer online psychotherapy sessions through Skype for anxiety, depression, OCD, panic attacks, insomnia, addictions and many other forms of emotional suffering that can and do benefit from learning new strategies for managing emotional reactivity. I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy, which is particularly effective for this purpose.

Reach out to me by email to schedule Online Mindfulness Therapy with me.

During these Skype therapy sessions I will teach you mindfulness-based methods for promoting recovery from all forms of anxiety, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder, OCD, persistent depression, and for help with and other emotional problems, by applying the very successful teachings of Mindfulness Therapy.

This approach is extremely effective and most clients notice significant improvements after the first few sessions with me.

Online Mindfulness-based Skype Psychotherapy is very effective for managing anxiety and depression without the need for medications. It is better to treat the psychological cause of your anxiety or depression as opposed to just suppressing symptoms.

The main healing factors cultivated during Mindfulness Therapy are Consciousness, which is essential for overcoming the negative habits that cause anxiety and depression, and Inner Compassion, which is what promotes healing and resolution of psychological suffering.

“Mindfulness therapy has helped me with my anxiety in a very significant way. No longer am I bound to my anxiety in a continuous circle. I’ve been able to see my anxiety for what it truly is, and it has liberated me. Thank you Peter.”

Online Therapist Sessions

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist. I provide online therapist sessions to help you work with anxiety, depression, addictions or any other emotional issues you may be struggling with.

During these online therapy sessions I teach you mindfulness-based approaches for working with emotions. What does that mean? Well, that means that we learn how to overcome our habitual patterns of reactivity: emotional reactivity or cognitive reactivity. We learn how to break free from these automatic patterns that simply feeds our anxiety or depression.

This is very important, indeed. Until you start to become conscious of these habits, they will never change, they will continue to operate out of consciousness like any other habit. It’s only when you start to really illuminate your emotional habits with conscious awareness that they begin to change. Then you can begin to re-establish independence from those habits and you can re-establish a sense of choice in relationship to those habits.

So, developing consciousness is the most important thing in Mindfulness Therapy. It is not about talking about your emotions; that is not going to change that underlying habit. What changes it is when you can develop real conscious awareness, conscious presence, with that emotion.

When you can be with it without reacting, then change becomes possible. In fact change becomes inevitable and the emotion will begin to change itself, or you will be able to help it change itself in that condition of consciousness.

Mindfulness, basically, is simply a form of direct engaged consciousness. That’s how I define it in my book, ‘The Path of Mindfulness Meditation.’ It is learning to be right there with your emotion, but without thinking about it, without reacting in any way, without judging the emotion; without criticizing yourself, without getting lost in patterns of reactive thinking.

Any form of reactivity simply has the effect of reinforcing the emotion. Breaking free from those patterns of reactivity will stop feeding that emotion, and if you stop feeding the emotion then the emotion has to change. You create the right conditions in which it will begin to transform itself.

So, learning to be conscious, learning to be the observer that sees the observed, in this case, the object that you see is the emotion, the emotional object, the mind object. This is what we focus on changing through conscious awareness, through mindfulness.

You train yourself to become that Observer instead of becoming the reactive entity of the ego, or Little Self, as we sometimes call it, and other forms of emotional suffering. They are all, primarily, emotional habits, and habits thrive on the absence of consciousness. They operate out of consciousness. When you bring them into consciousness they lose their power entirely.

So, our thinking habits, our belief habits, and our limitations. Limitations are simply conceptual habits that we place on our self. They are not real, they do not exist; they are created by the mind. But they are very real in their effects when they operate out of consciousness. We become prisoners of our thoughts, our emotions, our beliefs, our concepts.

So, mindfulness is all about the process of liberation, of becoming free from our prison and this process of freedom is catalyzed by awakening, awakening consciousness. Learning to be with our emotions, our thoughts, our memories, our pain, our traumas, our anger, our hatred.

Whatever it might be, learning to be with those mental objects consciously means that we become free from those mental objects. They cannot hurt us as long as we remain conscious. They only control us when we become unconscious.

So, this is a little bit about Mindfulness Therapy, which is what I offer as an online therapist. If you would like to learn more about Mindfulness Therapy and the online therapy process, do please contact me through my website and we can schedule a trial therapy session for you.

All you need is Skype and PayPal for secure online payments and you are ready to start. So, please contact me with your questions and let’s schedule a Skype therapy session. Thank you!

Online mindfulness therapy is extremely effective for all forms of anxiety and depression not requiring medical treatment, which is the case for most people. The mindfulness approach is very practical and will teach you how to overcome the habitual cognitive reactivity that feeds anxiety and depression. Most people will see big improvements after the first few sessions.

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I provide online therapy sessions through Skype. If you would like to talk to a therapist online for help with anxiety or for working with depression or an addiction or any other chronic psychological and emotional problems that you may be experiencing, then do please go to my website and learn more about online therapy and how it can help you, and then send me an e-mail, ask your questions, and we can schedule a Skype therapy session at a time that works for you.

I work with people throughout North America and Canada and Europe and the U.K., and as far away as Japan. The online format is really effective for working with anxiety and depression, particularly, where I will teach you how to essentially change those emotional habits that create anxiety or depression. We have to overcome those patterns of reactive habitual thinking that feeds our emotional suffering and this is a very, very common problem that responds extremely well to the online mindfulness therapy that I teach.

Mindfulness is a way of training in awareness, it is a way of training to be more conscious and more present with your thoughts and emotions. The biggest problem that prevents healing of anxiety or depression is that we become reactive. We are not present with our emotions. We react to them with aversion or avoidance or some distraction or other form of reactivity.

The reactivity takes your conscious awareness away from the anxiety that’s trying to heal. Without consciousness, anxiety or depression will not heal. So the whole purpose of mindfulness therapy is really to bring that conscious awareness back to your emotions to allow them to heal themselves.

In most cases that healing will occur quite naturally once you stop the habit of reacting to your anxiety or depression. If you would like to learn more about the mindful approach, do please contact me how we can schedule an online therapy session at that time that works for you.

Most people who choose this approach can expect to see significant improvements and a significant reduction in their anxiety or depression within usually the first two or three weeks. The sessions are very focused and very practical. They give you methods that you can practice at home between sessions to continue this process of developing conscious and mindful relationship with your thoughts and with your emotions to promote their healing. So if you’d like to learn more please e-mail me. Thank you.

Talk to a Therapist via Skype

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong. I am a professional psychotherapist specializing in mindfulness therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression. If you are looking for online therapy sessions in the USA then please go to my website and learn more about the online therapy service that I offer throughout North America and also worldwide.

The style of online therapy sessions that I offer is really designed to teach you very practical mindfulness based methods for overcoming those patterns of habitual reactive thinking that trap us in the habitual emotional reactivity of anxiety and depression and other common emotional psychological problems that we may experience.

Online therapy sites - Speak to a therapist online via Skype

So the real root cause of anxiety and depression is this process by which we become identified with the reactive thoughts and the reactive emotions that get triggered in the mind. We become captivated by these emotional habits, and it’s rather like falling in a river. We get swept away by reactive thinking and further emotional reactivity.

Mindfulness training teaches us how to maintain our balance, how to sit on the bank of the river instead of falling in. This is a very important concept because no matter how strong the river is, if you are secure on the bank then that river cannot hurt you. And it’s exactly the same with our emotions and with reactive thoughts.

If you can maintain the position of being the OBSERVER of your emotions and thoughts then they have no power at all to cause you emotional suffering. You can learn to observe them, to sit with your mind without becoming lost in your mind, without becoming lost in habitual patterns of reactive thinking and habitual emotional reactivity. This is a very important skill that we teach in great detail during the mindfulness online therapy sessions that I offer over Skype.

Online Psychotherapy Sessions for Anxiety

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I provide online therapy sessions for overcoming anxiety and to help with depression as well.

So online therapy is extremely effective as long as you use Skype or some other video conferencing technology so that you can see each other as well as hear each other. I believe this greatly increases the efficiency of communication and makes the therapy sessions much more successful if you can see each other as well as speak to each other in real time, and really online therapy sessions are no different than therapy sessions in a therapist’s office.

What’s important during all therapy sessions is that you learn how to work with your mind how to work with your emotions and with recurring thought patterns and anything else that goes on in the mind that affects the quality of your life. You need to be able to change your relationship to thoughts emotions and memories as well. This is very much the focus of mindfulness therapy which is a very successful form of psychotherapy which does just this.

It teaches you how to break free from that cycle of becoming overwhelmed by your emotions and thoughts. You learn how to become the observer. This is very important indeed because when you can free yourself from that habit of becoming identified with your emotions and thoughts then you can begin that process of change and transformation.

If you continue the habits of becoming overwhelmed then you simply feed those underlying emotional habits that create anxiety or depression. So learning to be the observer is what I will teach you during these Skype-based online therapy sessions, and is very effective indeed.

Online therapy sites - Speak to a therapist online via Skype

Most of my clients see results very quickly when they start to approach their emotions in this way. It’s definitely much more effective than just talking about your emotions or even just trying to understand your emotions. This does not really change those habits that create the emotions and this is the focus of mindfulness therapy that I teach online.

So if you’d like to learn more about the mindfulness therapy approach and online psychotherapy sessions with me then please go to my website and learn more about online therapy, and when you feel ready simply email me and we can schedule an online therapy session at a time that works for you. I see people through out the USA and abroad as well.

So, please go to my website. Learn more about this online therapy service and then e-mail me. Thank you.

Online Therapy Sessions over Skype

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist. I offer therapy over Skype for working with difficult emotions, whether that be anxiety, depression, addictions, or traumatic memories. I often work with people suffering from PTSD,

I use this technique called Mindfulness Therapy, which is a very good way of working with difficult emotions. It is really quite different than conventional talk therapy because it helps you change the underlying structure of the process itself that creates your emotional suffering, whether that is anxiety or depression or fear or compulsion.

Because it is such a direct approach, unlike talk therapy or counseling, you can expect to see quite significant changes in your emotions after, usually, 3 or 4 sessions of Mindfulness Therapy. We are working on the actual mechanism that creates that anxiety or depression or trauma, and that’s why Mindfulness Therapy is so successful.

It’s not just about trying to fix things, it’s about actually growing and developing your full capacity. So, that’s another extremely important part of online Mindfulness Therapy.

If you are interested in learning more about online therapy sessions do please go to my website and read more of the pages and watch more of the videos there to get a sense of this process. When you feel ready CONTACT ME. SEND ME AN EMAIL and then we can schedule an online therapy session.

All you need is an internet connection, Skype and PayPal to make secure online payments for your sessions and you are ready to go.

And, as I say, this is very different than conventional counseling; it’s very much faster, it’s very much more empowering, and I really do expect my clients to see significant improvements after the first 2 or 3 sessions. Even the first session will produce some significant changes for you. So please go to my website and email me and schedule an online therapy session.

The first session is a trial session, which means there is no upfront payment and if you feel that it is not right for you then there is no payment due. You only pay for that session if you like the work, that you experience improvements within that first session and that you want to continue sessions with me. Then you would pay for that trial session.

So, if this interests you, please contact me and we can schedule a Skype therapy session. Thank you.

Psychotherapy without medications

My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional registered therapist based in Boulder, Colorado, USA. I offer online therapy sessions via Skype. With the advent of videoconferencing over the internet it’s now possible to talk to a therapist online and see him or her in real-time. It’s really just the same as if you were in the office together.

I’ve been offering online counseling for several years now. As far as I’m concerned there is no real difference between online or in-person therapy, especially if you’re teaching some form of cognitive therapy or mindfulness therapy, as I teach, where the emphasis is on teaching skills for working with difficult emotions. This can be transmitted online through Skype just as well as it can face-to-face in the office.

Online Therapy Sessions via Skype – Mindfulness Therapy for Anxiety and Depression

During Mindfulness Therapy we explore the internal and external structure of our emotions in order to facilitate their healing.

The external structure consists of the complex of reactive conditioned thoughts that feed our anxiety or depression much like throwing logs on a fire. Through mindfulness training we learn to see these thoughts more clearly. The clearer our seeing the less power they have. When we take away the fuel source from the fire, the fire extinguishes itself quite naturally, and so it is with our emotions. The real issue that prevents anxiety and depression healing is that unconscious reactivity.

The internal structure of emotions exists in the form of psychological imagery. This is what holds the emotion together. When any emotion resolves and heals it does so by changing that imagery. During mindfulness therapy we help that imagery change, which in turn greatly accelerates the rate of emotional healing.

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong. I’m a professional psychotherapist and I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression.

So if you’re interested in learning more about Mindfulness Therapy for overcoming anxiety and depression, do please feel free to reach out to me and ask any questions you may have and we can schedule an online therapy session at a time that works for you.

People like online therapy. It Is very convenient and it’s also much more comfortable for most people to be able to have their therapy sessions at home or even in the office if they can find a quiet place for the online session. It’s very important that you feel comfortable.

I recommend that you also contact any therapist that you’re interested in working with online before you schedule your online therapy session with them to make sure that their approach matches your needs. So I specialize in Mindfulness Therapy, which I find to be very, very effective for most people. This is an approach that teaches you how to work with difficult emotions using mindfulness.

Mindfulness meditation for healing anxiety & depression
Mindfulness meditation for healing anxiety & depression

Now mindfulness is simply a quality of presence, of being conscious, of being aware, of being able to form a relationship with your anxiety or depression without reacting; to be present with your emotions without reacting, without trying to push them away or run away from them; without trying to distract yourself, without any kind of reactivity, to be totally present.

This quality of being totally present with your emotions is vital for allowing healing to happen. So painful emotions emotional suffering in general is always trying to heal. That’s its nature. The mind is always trying to heal anxiety or depression in very much the same way that the body is always trying to heal any injury that it sustains.

This process we call psychological homeostasis and it is very much the same as homeostasis in the body. So that’s important to understand; your anxiety or depression or other form of emotional suffering is already on a path of healing. The problem is that we do not allow it to heal properly because we become reactive.

So in order for any emotion to heal it must have that conscious presence that we’re talking about in Mindfulness Therapy. That consciousness is what allows it to heal. It’s provides a safe space around the emotion that allows the emotion to change, to unfold or differentiate, to break up from being a very condensed contracted state to being much more malleable.

So emotional malleability is one of the results of establishing a mindful relationship with your emotions. They become more malleable and are more able to change, and it’s through that change process that they heal.

So we learn to become more conscious and more mindful with our emotional suffering, and we do this by meditating on our anxiety or depression. We make the emotion the central focus of our meditation to establish this healing relationship that allows the emotion to continue its path of healing.

We can also help the emotion heal faster by interacting with it with compassion, helping the emotion heal by strengthening the relationship that we have with that emotion. So we treat the emotion very much as we might treat a person or a child or an animal that was in pain.

We developed a conscious, caring, compassionate relationship with that emotion as an object, like a person or an animal. We cultivate that relationship and that speeds up the healing process.

We often find that what really seems to help build this relationship and facilitate healing is to explore the structure of the emotion itself. What is it that’s keeping that anxiety or depression in place? And there is different parts to the structure. There is an internal structure and there is an external structure.

Overcome reactive thinking

The external structure is really mostly in the form of reactive thoughts. So the emotion takes form in reactive thoughts. For example worry in the case of anxiety or rumination in the case of depression. These reactive thoughts tend to feed the emotion and that prevents it from healing.

Changing emotional imagery

The internal structure of emotions is based mostly around imagery, the way that we see the emotion in the mind. So it will have a certain color, a position. It will have a size associated with it. It will have a different texture. It may be hard or soft. It may be smooth or rough. The imagery is very, very important. That is what holds together the emotion.

So thoughts feed the emotion, but the imagery holds it together and gives it form. So when we are meditating on our emotions we are looking at its structure. We’re looking for these reactive thoughts, first of all, the outer structure. When we see reactive thoughts, we do not react to them with further aversion or trying to push them away or trying to suppress those reactive thoughts. Instead we respond to them with mindfulness in exactly the same manner. We learn to disengage from becoming identified with those reactive thoughts and that is vital to allow the reactive thoughts that form this outer structure to heal and to resolve themselves and to extinguish themselves.

We then move on to build this conscious mindful relationship with the imagery of the emotion and we let it change. If you stop reacting to that emotion then it will begin to heal, and the way it heals is by changing its imagery. So the inner structure of emotions is based around this imagery and as that imagery changes so the emotion heals.

So again we can facilitate that by helping it change its imagery. We can try on different colors, we can move its position, we can make it smaller, we can move it further away from us. We can interact with it skillfully to facilitate his change. But the most important thing is to establish this conscious relationship, the mindful relationship, with that emotion that allows it to change according to its own internal healing process.
