Internet Therapy with an Internet Therapist

Internet Therapy for Anxiety and Depression

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong. I’m a professional registered psychotherapist. I live in Colorado, and I offer online Mindfulness Therapy
via Skype.

Now this form of therapy, also known as Internet Therapy, is becoming increasingly popular. Most people like the convenience of being able to schedule an online session, rather than driving to a therapist’s office. Also, scheduling therapy over the Internet allows you to get a greater access to different types of therapists. For example, there’s now a growing number of people who are particularly interested in Mindfulness Therapy and this Buddhist form of psychotherapy in general, because they find it a much more effective way of working with emotions than the old-fashioned talk therapies. And indeed, Mindfulness Therapy is extremely good for working with anxiety disorders, including panic attacks, depression, trauma (including PTSD), and other forms of very difficult emotions that have
become stuck and are not resolved.

The method that I use, Mindfulness Therapy, you can read a lot more about that on my website. If you are interested in Internet Therapy and would like to schedule a Skype session with me, please contact me, and let’s begin a discussion first of all to see if this is right for you, and then we can go ahead and schedule a session.

Thank you, and welcome to Online Mindfulness Therapy from Boulder, Colorado.

Internet Therapy through Skype

Online Internet Therapy, e-therapy, or web therapy is becoming more widely accepted as both an adjunct to traditional office-based therapy and now as an alternative to traditional office-based counseling. Internet Therapy for anxiety and depression allows you to take charge of your healing process at a time and place of your choosing. Of course, internet therapy is not recommended for people with a medical condition or for people at risk of self-harm or harming others. If you feel that this describes you, then you should contact your local doctor.

This Internet-based Online Counseling Service is designed for the majority of people, like you, who are healthy, but struggling with anxiety, depression or other form of emotional stress.

Internet Counseling is not intended to treat a medical condition – it is intended to treat the human condition! If you would like to talk to an Internet Counselor then this Internet-based Counseling Service is an excellent option for you to consider. Unlike other computer-based virtual counseling and virtual therapy programs, which have gained some popularity in recent years, this internet service allows you to talk with a therapist in-person. There is no substitute for one-on-one individual therapy sessions in which you can see a therapist and talk with him in real-time.

I have developed a system of Internet Therapy via Skype based on Mindfulness Therapy, a system that I devised in the 1980s that has proved remarkably effective for anxiety, depression and other forms of emotional stress. This system of therapy is designed to teach you how to change the underlying emotions that create stress, anxiety and depression. Skype sessions are a combination of teaching and practical work – all designed to give you the skills you need to change your habitual patterns of emotional reactivity –  all designed to stop you from being a victim of your painful emotions, so that you can heal and move on.

It is easy to get started with Internet Counseling Therapy – simply email me. I will answer all your questions about Online Therapy over the Internet and how it can help you with your specific emotional problems.

Where to Get the Best Internet Therapy for Anxiety and Depression

In the fast paced world we all live today, it is not uncommon to find thousands of people who have one form of mental health issues or the other. The mild to moderate mental health issues are also the most common. In fact, statistics have shown that up to 20% of Americans suffer from at least one form of mental illness. This means if you have 5 friends, then one of them is likely to need to see a professional for one on one consultation or for internet therapy.

Of all the mental health issues anyone could suffer, anxiety and depression are certainly the most common. The National Institute of Medical Health has estimated that up to 40 million American adults suffer from anxiety. That amounts to about 18% of the whole population.

Unfortunately, most of these people who suffer from anxiety and depression never get professional help to solve the problem. Less than 35% actually ever sign up for any type of treatment. One then begins to wonder why so many people never get the kind of help they need. Is it because of hectic work schedule? Or is it because of time consuming family commitments? Or maybe some people are just too shy or too scared to see a therapist.

Internet Psychotherapy has been around for a while now. This is a very good option for those who have a reason or the other why they cannot make it to a one on one consultation with a professional. They may take the option of some equally effective internet consultation.

How Do I Know I Need Internet Therapy

They say the first step to solving any problem is recognition. It you do not know you need internet therapy then there is no way you will think to search the web for the best internet therapy you can afford.

If getting up in the morning without negativity is becoming more and more of a problem, then it might be time to get some form of internet psychotherapy. Are you becoming grumpy, moody or unhappy? Do you constantly have negative thoughts that bring you down? Are you suffering from social anxiety? Do you suffer from low self esteem or any other mental health issues? Then a trained professional would be able to help you put things in perspective.

Usually, it is not the events that make one unhappy, but rather, it is the interpretation of such events that could make all the difference between happiness and sadness. You could acquire all the information you need to live a happier and more confident life at your fingertips by subscribing to our internet psychotherapy service. It’s cheap, efficient and accessible at any time of the day, contact us today to learn more.

What You Should Know About Internet Therapy

In the past, getting access to conventional psychotherapy used to be very difficult. Even though people hardly doubted its benefits, many people who needed help were unable or unwilling to access it for a number of reasons. One major reason is that some people do not know they have the treatable mental illness of anxiety. Some others are just unable to take time out of their busy schedule, while others are scared off by the fear of being thought of as a crazy person if they are seen with a psychotherapist.

Internet psychotherapy goes a long way to encourage people who are shy or scared to seek medical help. In addition to being a means of treatment that can be accessed from anywhere, internet therapy is also desirable because it can be very effective. Unlike some medications that would only treat the symptoms and leave the cause of anxiety untouched, internet counseling will put the tools you need in your hands and also teach you how to use them to challenge negative thoughts before they develop into anxiety or depression.

There are two common methods of treatment that may be perfect for you; these are cognitive behavioral therapy or exposure therapy for anxiety. There are also a number of treatment options that we can use to help you control your feelings of anxiety and reduce depression without needing face-to-face contact or asking invasive questions.

How Effective Is Internet Psychotherapy

In the beginning, many people believed that consulting with patients through the internet is a joke and ineffective at best, but that is far from the truth. Recent studies now suggest that internet psychotherapy or online counseling are even be more effective than the traditional method which involves meeting with a trained professional face to face.

In a recent study conducted at the University of Zurich, a group of 62 patients was split equally. One part was given internet therapy while members of the other group were treated via the normal face-to-face therapy. At the end of the therapy, it was found that 53% of those given internet therapy were relieved of anxiety while only 50% of the other group who got the one-on-one treatment got their anxiety relieved. This study goes to proof that not only is online counseling effective, but that it is slightly more effective that face-to-face counseling. In addition, the results from online therapy lasted longer than the conventional therapy. At the end of three months, 52 percent of patients of online therapy were still not depressed compared to the 42 percent that was observed in the conventional therapy treatment.

This is really great news if you are looking for online therapy but are concerned about how effective it would be. If you have observed that you need someone to talk to about your anxiety or depression but haven’t quite find the time to drive down to the office of a professional for any reason, then now you know there is another means that is just as effective. You can get all the psychotherapy you need through internet counseling via email, phone, or chat.

Contact us today, and together we will design an online therapy that will handle all your mental health issues without interfering with your busy schedule. You would be pleasantly surprised by the all round health benefits that a simple online psychotherapy provided by a trained professional for a few minutes daily can have on the overall quality of your life.

Is Internet Therapy as Effective as in-person Therapy?

The evidence is certainly pointing in this direction. Basically, internet therapy works extremely well for the process-oriented forms of psychotherapy such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Therapy (MT). Both of these approaches teach you practical strategies for changing our habitual reactive thinking and beliefs that play such an important part in generating anxiety, depression and stress.

Skype-based Internet Therapy allows you to have a personal session with an Online Therapist using the Video Call option and it is really no different to being face-to-face with a therapist in person. Talking to an Internet Therapist is really no different from talking to a therapist in-person, except that you have no commute to deal with or the awkwardness of being seen with a local therapist who may know you or your friends.

Is Internet Therapy a Good Choice for Helping Me with Anxiety and Panic Attacks?

In my experience with Skype-based internet therapy, I would say emphatically “yes” to that question. One of the advantages of internet therapy is that people generally feel much more comfortable and less intimidated talking to an internet therapist. It is just more comfortable having an online session in the comfort of your own home – and feeling comfortable is a very important factor for successful psychotherapy.

The key to transforming anxiety is to learn how to apply mindfulness – a very refined awareness tool – to the inner emotions that cause you to become anxious.

The central problem that we face and that prevents anxiety from naturally healing and resolving is our habitual reactivity to our anxiety emotions themselves. This reactivity takes the form of avoidance, resistance and aversion. The more we resist our anxiety, the more it persists; and of course ignoring these core emotions will do nothing to bring about change and healing. During Skype Therapy sessions, you will learn how to stop this reactivity and then create the right inner conditions of mindful presence with your emotions that promotes and allows transformation and healing to occur.

Anxiety Treatment over the Internet

Anxiety Treatment over the Internet

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong, and I am a professional online therapist. I provide anxiety treatment online via Skype. This is a very convenient and very effective way of getting the help you need for overcoming anxiety.

Not everyone wants to take medications for treating their anxiety. Medications may provides temporary relief, of course, but they do not treat the underlying cause or underlying process that generates anxiety on a daily basis. The best treatment for the underlying cause of anxiety is some form of psychotherapy.

The style of psychotherapy that I provide is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is very effective for managing anxiety and for treating depression and other emotional problems where there is an underlying process of reactive thinking.

This is the most common cause of anxiety: reactive thinking, and it is necessary to see this pattern of reactive thinking very clearly, and then learning how to change these patterns by developing non-identification with those thoughts that tend to reoccur.

So, this is the most essential part of Mindfulness Therapy, learning to recognize those anxiety-producing thoughts, learning how to see them clearly, without becoming lost in them, without becoming identified with them. And, this creates the right conditions in which this anxiety thoughts can begin to loosen their grip on you – they begin to resolve by themselves.

So, that’s part of Mindfulness Therapy. The other part is working with the underlying core emotions themselves that fuel the reactive thinking. So, some of these core emotions might be a sense of fear, a sense of not being adequate, a sense of self-hatred, or guilt, or general fearfulness. We need to establish a mindfulness relationship with this core emotion, whatever it is, and it is by doing that that we create the right conditions in which it can heal.

When we get lost in reactivity, reactive thinking, that has the effect of inhibiting healing. But, when we are able to form a compassionate and conscious relationship with our core emotions then those emotions begin to heal. So, this is a very important second part of Mindfulness Therapy.

So, if you are interested in anxiety treatment online and if you would like to learn more about online Mindfulness Therapy for treating anxiety, please visit my website and contact me and we can schedule an online anxiety treatment session via Skype.
